Miss Boston Leadership and History

The Miss Boston Scholarship Organization is a 501c3 non-profit organization run by all volunteers.  The Miss Boston Scholarship Organization was founded for the purpose of providing scholarships to young women between to ages of 17-24 who compete in the local pageant and go on to the state competition. The winner of the local competition goes on to compete in the Miss Massachusetts Program and the Miss America Program.

  Stephanie Janes
  Executive Director and President

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal performance from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science in Arts Administration from Drexel University.  Under her leadership the Miss Boston Organization was re-founded in 2008 and is now a 501c3 non-profit organization.  Stephanie was Ms. Delaware 2008, Miss Milford 2006, and Miss Coastal Bay 2005, and has been the recipient of many talent and interview awards at the local and state levels.  She currently works at the Celebrity Series of Boston as the Publicity and Communication Manager, teaches spinning at the Boston Athletic Club, and sings with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.  Stephanie was also a 2011 Fellow in the UMass Boston Center for Collaborative Leadership Emerging Leaders Program.

  Christine Morse
   Secretary

Christine Morse grew up in California and currently resides in Whitman, Massachusetts with her husband, Steve, daughter, Savannah Rose and two stepsons, Michael and Nathan.  She has been involved with the dance community, both teaching and dancing, for over 25 years.  She was a dance major at San Jose State University in San Jose, CA and has since enjoyed a career as a police officer in Massachusetts.  Christine was directly involved with the Miss California local pageants when she was younger and since then has been involved with the Miss Ohio pageant as a volunteer and the Miss Massachusetts local pageants as a judge.

  Jane Blaney
 Treasurer

 Jane holds a Bachelor's degree in Biopsychology & Spanish from Oberlin College, and currently works at RHR International.  Jane is also a sought after actress, appearing on the Improv Asylum stage and in countless advertising campaigns, commercials, and movies.

  Dana Rosengard
 Board member and Emcee

Dana Rosengard earned his Ph.D. from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill .  This comes after degrees from the University of New Hampshire (B.A./communication), Northwestern University (M.S./broadcast journalism), and Johnson State College (M.A./education).  A former television news reporter, anchor, and producer, including four years at Boston ’s WCVB-TV/ABC 5, Dana has gone back to TV newsrooms four summers as a reporter and field-producer since leaving the newsroom full-time for the classroom.  He is now on the journalism faculty at Suffolk University in Boston.  In addition to his work in television and higher education, Dana runs “Walk, Talk & Win,” traveling the country as a pageant producer, emcee, judge, and coach.  Two clients have been top-10 semi-finalists at Miss America and two others have won the Miss USA crown.

Dustin Todd Rennells

Dustin Todd Rennells is a Missouri native with a background in both fine arts and the culinary world.  Dustin is the Artistic Director of the Mrs. Missouri America, Mrs. Kansas America and Princess of America Pageants lending his talents of scenic design, event planning and hosting as each need presents itself.  Mr. Rennells reigns his creativity through his own company, Dustin Rennells Design, where he specializes in event planning, costume/set design, and window display work.  His co-created displays with Shreve, Crump & Low have been published in Store Windows No. 9 & 13. He is also a skilled chef, teaching courses at Boston Center for Adult Education and doing private catering.  Dustin is so pleased to start this new journey with the Miss Boston Scholarship Organization.

Lauren Presant - Marketing and Development Intern

Lauren grew up in Los Angeles and went to Crossroads School of Arts and Sciences. She organized a fashion show fundraiser in her senior year for HIV/AIDS awareness. Ever since, she knew event management is what she wanted to do. She chose to go to Northeastern University and study Communications. She started interning for the Miss Boston Organization in the summer of 2012 to help manage the Miss Boston events, marketing and fundraising.
